What is a Residence Pass?
The Residence Pass-Talent (RP-T) is a longer-term Malaysian residency option for highly skilled professionals, administered by Talent Corporation Malaysia (TalentCorp). Once granted, it is not tied to a single employer. Standard eligibility calls for at least three consecutive years on an Employment Pass, a basic monthly salary of at least RM15,000 excluding allowances and bonuses, a recognised degree or professional certification, and two years of Malaysian income tax filings. Approval sits with TalentCorp's RP-T panel even where the minimum criteria are met.
